There is no evidence to suggest that Basenjis have ever been used to hunt lions. Basenjis were originally developed as hunting dogs in Central Africa and were highly valued for their ability to track and locate small game such as birds and rabbits. However, their small size and unique physical characteristics would make them unsuited for hunting large and dangerous animals such as lions. Lions are apex predators that require specialized hunting techniques and equipment to be taken down safely, and it’s unlikely that a Basenji would be able to handle such a task.
